King Fahad Cultural Center

The King Fahad Cultural Center (KFCC) was constructed to be the biggest and most advanced opera theatre in Riyadh and in the Kingdom. The project was completed to host the first ever Saudi Opera "Zarqa al-Yamama".

 

The project was an incredible feat of engineering as the main hall as well as the rest of the building was completely refurbished in under a 7 month period. Comprising of the following:

​

  • 2754 seats custom supplied by Poltrona Frau with integrated surtitle screens for live audio translation.

  • Timber cladding which was designed, fabricated and supplied and installed in under 6 months by Woodfit Acoustics Ltd.

  • Large timber audio reflectors, along with a steel channel substructure each weighing around 2 Tons.

  • Parametrically generated ceiling baffles made from an aluminum mesh with welded triangular plates

  • A Royal Box with movable timber partitions and integrated lighting
